Many people assume that they need the agility of
a mountain goat to get through a cave. As long as you
can walk and handle some steps with a handrail
we will not rush you along.

HOW FAR TO
THE CAVE?

The path from the parking area is a gentle slope that winds for about 40 metres to the cave entrance

ARE THERE LOTS OF STAIRS ?

There are 30 concrete steps entering the cave with
handrails on both sides - obviously no choice on using these. From there on floors are generally flat with occasional steps.
Paths & chambers are lit.
Tours can be modified on request for less mobile visitors
if you don't wish to do any further stairs.

WHAT ABOUT WHEELCHAIRS?

We do not have roll-in wheelchair access but if you
can get down the steps with assistance we can
then put you back in the wheelchair at the bottom.

You then have access to a number of chambers
generally floors are flat but connections
between some chambers may be a bit difficult
(refer to previous sentence).

CAN I TAKE MY 90 YEAR OLD GRANNY?

Of course, as long as she is reasonably mobile.
We recently had a 65 yr old visitor who brought his 92 yr old mother. It was her first cave experience: afterwards she berated him for never having taken her to such a wonderful place before!

CAVE SEATING ?

Yes, that's right! We have armchairs in the cave! As our floors are flat you can sit comfortably for a while: we spend time in the adjacent areas so you can relax and take in the magnificent surroundings.
We'll even carry a chair for you if need be.
(You may also notice that it is possible to take a short nap as well!)

Refer also to Cave Tours but if you have any other questions please CONTACT US!

Please note : Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair accessible toilets,
however these are located at Wee Jasper Information bay in the village
and at Fitzpatrick Trackhead Reserve.
